inspired by the natural world
Jack Spalding, skilled woodworker and artist, was born in Northwest Indiana and raised in an environment that honors and respects the beauty and intricacy of nature. His work is deeply influenced by these ideals, resulting in unique creations that capture the essence of natural elements. Each piece is crafted with reverence and gratitude for the intrinsic gifts of the wood and the story it holds within.
“in japanese, kodama, the ‘spirit of a tree,’ refers to a feeling of kinship with the heart of a tree. it is our deepest respect for the tree that we may offer the tree a second life.”
